We now have a new grocery bag size and we're calling it "The
Market Tote Bag". We developed our reusable medium and large grocery
bag sizes based on the traditional paper bags that grocery stores
use. By taking a recent look at the paper AND plastic bag sizes
used in the store, we have realized that ours are a little larger
and that we might actually need a smaller grocery bag. The Market
Tote Bag grocery bag is convenient for times when you don't want
to carry too much, or for lighter shopping trips. Grocery stores
in general do not pack any bag- plastic, paper, or reusable tote
bag- with anything more than 10 pounds. Sometimes even lighter.
With the triple stitched handles on all of our grocery bags,
our canvas tote bags can HOLD OVER 60 POUNDS! Wash them often
(please), reuse them often, year after year. Our American
Made tote bags can take the abuse without any wear on the
cotton fabric nor the handles. No more worries of split seams
or handles coming off like the non-woven bags coming in from China.
In the long run it's less expensive to purchase an Enviro-Tote
canvas bag that will last for over 10 years!
A big benefit of our reusable
grocery bag sizes is that the same size logo can be printed
on all three tote bag sizes. We can make the image as large as
we can for the Market Tote grocery bag (12"x10"), yet it will
be large enough to print on either the medium grocery bag or the
large grocery bag. You can order 2 different sizes ie: 250 of
the grocery bag and 250 of the large grocery bag and get the 500
quantity break!
Our Market Tote Bag size will comfortable carry 2 rows or 16
canned goods, a six pack and 2-liter of soda, your weekly produce,
at least 30 fat-quarter bundles (quilters language), or a half
bushel of apples!
The Medium Grocery Bag
size would carry two gallons of milk with a roll of paper towels
lying on top.
The Large Grocery Bag size would hold, well, pretty much anything
you want. It is the exact same size as the 1/6 sack, paper bag,
in the grocery store.
Now you can do your part, and use bags at the grocery store that
are not made in China or Pakistan, but made right here in America.
Help save the environment and American manufacturing jobs. Our
material is woven and tote bags are Made in the USA. These bags
can be used for years and will not wear out after a dozen or more
uses. No more worries over bags that split at the seams. These
bags are tough!
Some
of us at Enviro-Tote would like to share our own At Home Bag
Procedures with you. No matter how committed you are to reusing
tote bags, it is a difficult task to remember them. We hope these
help.
"I always keep a couple of bags in the trunk of the car for unexpected
stops at the store. If the planned grocery trip is imminent I
hang them on the door knob as I prepare to leave the house and
throw my list in with the bags. I can't go into the store without
my list... and that way I don't forget the reusable bags."
"After unloading purchases I make sure to put a couple of bags
back in the car. I just think of how embarrassed I would be carrying
out the plastic bags! I tell my husband "Do not to come home if
you have plastic bags". He also remembers now!"
"I always carry a tote bag with my purse wherever I go, so I
just naturally remember when I get to the store."
"I have a miniature bag that we made for a customer hanging in
my car to remind myself." (see picture at left)
"The recycle bin at the front entrance of the grocery store reminds
me. When I forget my bags, I make myself run back into the car
to get them."
"Before I get into the car, I grab the bags from the back and
put them on top of my purse so I won't forget."
"It looks like I use the same tricks as everyone else to remember
my shopping bags! I put my bags in the back seat of my car (not
the trunk) so I have a better chance of seeing them before I go
into the store. I put them all in one bag to carry them easier,
and I've even sent my husband back out to the car to get the bags
before check-out! Haha! Sometimes he makes me go get them! After
they are empty I hang them on the door so I'll bring them to the
car when I go out. A coat hook on the back of the door could be
used to hold empty bags. :-) "
The sure bet to have your bags in the car at all times is to
unload and reload! Unload the groceries, reload the car. We will
be so thankful while standing at checkout with our reusable grocery
bags from Enviro-Tote.
