Tote Bag of the Month – March 2011

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Each month Tote Talk will post a favorite bag choice and some background information about it. This month’s winner is: Copper Leaf Productions

Once again our friends at Copper Leaf Productions hung tote bags on the backs of the chairs for their author’s dinner. The printing reflects the event’s theme and colors. This year they ordered a custom sized bag with a wine holder stitched inside. To see their previous bag, click here.

Buying American Made in America

Monday, February 21st, 2011

Recently there was a report for “World News with Diane Sawyer” for  a series on the US & China.  The statistics about the number of American jobs lost to foreign countries since the industrial peak in 1979 were very eye-opening. The report states that if every American spent an additional $3.33 a year on American made products it would in turn produce an additional 10,000 American jobs.

Click here for the link to the story.

What do you think of these statistics? Do you ever look for American Made products when you shop?

Tote Bag of the Month – February 2011

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

Each month Tote Talk will post a favorite bag choice and some background information about it. This month’s winner is: Room & Board

Room & Board sells handcrafted, American-made home furnishings to customers across the county. To help kick off their 2011 collection, they wanted totes that were also made in the U.S. from natural materials. The totes will be a part of events at many of their 11 stores, as customers are invited to special days dedicated to celebrating the art of American furniture-making.
